Darien Rowayton Bank opened its Southport Branch at 3695 Post Road last year. The bank, which was founded in 2006, was created with the objective of bringing local bank services with competitive rates and products together with thoughtful personal service to serve the small businesses and residents of Darien and Rowayton.

Building on its success, the bank expanded into other Fairfield County communities and came to Southport with the objective of providing its banking services to the communities of Westport, Southport and Fairfield.

Leong, the bank’s assistant treasurer, has been an important outreach and business development liaison for the bank, helping to integrate Darien Rowayton Bank into the fabric of the vibrant business community of Darien. Through her efforts, in 2011 Darien Rowayton Bank was recognized as the Business of the Year by the Darien Chamber of Commerce. Leong was also recognized as Member Volunteer of the Year.

In addition to working with the bank, Leong has contributed tirelessly to the community as the vice chairman of the Darien Chamber of Commerce as a board member for the past five years; working on the Advisory Board of New Covenant House of Hospitality (lower Fairfield County’s only soup kitchen); and on the advisory board to Stamford Hospital’s Mobile Wellness Bus.

Through her community involvement and relationship building abilities, Leong has been able to make Darien Rowayton Bank a visible factor in the Darien business community.

As the business development officer of the Southport Branch, she expects to expand her work and community involvement to Westport, Fairfield and Southport, bringing the banking experience to the small businesses and people of these communities.

“I am thrilled to be back in the area and am excited to get involved with local organizations and giving back to the community,’’ she said.
