According to shop owner Margharet Hollander, The Optical Shop’s shape overs are conducted to determine a person’s face shape in order to decide which kind of eyeware would enhance vision and appearance.
“There are five main face shapes: round, heart, rectangular, oval and square,” said Hollander. “Someone with a square face does best wearing a curved frame, which softens their jaw, and someone with a heart shaped face does best in a square or rectangular frame to balance features.”
Until Dec. 19, The Optical Shop will give away 19 pairs of designer readers valued at up to $75. On Dec. 20, it will give away one pair of prescription eyewear valued at up to $500.
