The event will include a buffet dinner from 5:30-7 p.m., followed by a concert from 7:30-10 p.m.Coogan blends jazz with traditional Christmas carols. He also performs his original Christmas music, as well as a setting of a Gregorian chant and his rendering of music from Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas."
Through our musical program, we will uplift and energize your spirits, said Coogan. Each carol is first sung by all, and then a jazz quintet will explore the nuances of the same carols through improvisation and my own unique musical arrangements.
Actress and vocalist Michele Grace of Fairfield will also perform a series of holiday classics. The Chris Coogan Jazz Quintet is composed of Coogan on piano; Rex Denton, of Madison on trumpet; Jim Royle of Monroe on drums; Jim Clark of Norwalk on sax; and John Mobilio of Watertown on bass.Tickets cost $45 and include a three-course buffet dinner.
