The tour, ‘Celebrating the Art of Living,’ will be held on Friday, May 8. The tour will open the doors to six spectacular homes decorated by renowned designers in the beautiful enclaves of Westport and Southport.

Ticket prices for the Designer House Tour are $65 in advance or $75 on the day of the tour. The Designer Breakfast is $75 and the Toast the Tour Cocktail Party & Car Show is $100 in advance or $125 at the door. Tickets can be purchased on the Near and Far Aid website.

“Near & Far Aid’s Designer House Tour captures elegance, beauty and unique design in Fairfield County while supporting our organization’s commitment to provide a better future for men, women and children living in poverty. Over the past two decades, Near & Far Aid has delivered over $16million in aid to targeted low-income communities across Fairfield County," said Near & Far Aid President, Bitsy Higgins of Westport.

“We are grateful for the scores of volunteers, sponsors and homeowners who make this event a truly memorable day for our patrons year after year.”

Carol Timpanelli, a  longtime supporter of the arts with a philanthropic spirit, is the chairwoman of this year’s tour. Committed to the greater good of Fairfield County for many years, she has served on the boards of the Greater Bridgeport Symphony; Downtown Bridgeport Cabaret Theatre; the Polka Dot Theatre; the Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival; and the Trumbull Arts Commission.

To open the day’s event, Near & Far Aid will host a pre-tour breakfast at the Patterson Club in Fairfield, where visionary designer Alexa Hampton will discuss her design process and offer tips for tackling a renovation.

As the daughter of interior design legend Mark Hampton, she learned the language of good design, the vocabulary to speak it, and the elements that define it at a very early age. Now one of America’s most influential designers herself, Alexa Hampton has won countless awards for her design work on houses, apartments, planes, boats, furniture and even cars.

Hampton is also the author of two critically praised books: "The Language of Interior Design" and "Decorating in Detail." She will be available for a book signing of her recent book, "Decorating in Detail," after the presentation.

Near & Far Aid will host its signature celebratory cocktail party, “Toast the Tour,” on the evening of May 8, at the Fairfield County Hunt Club. This popular event, which will be open to the public, includes a luxury car show, libations and abundant hors d’oeuvres to culminate another successful tour.
