Welcome to TheDailyWestport

When Boston friends visited Westport for the first time one summer about five years ago, they were astonished by the town. They thought Compo Beach was spectacular, loved strolling and shopping along Main Street (the July sidewalk sale was on, a bonus!), marveled at Staples' playing fields and facilities and couldn't believe that the library, the Levitt and Longshore were also part of the Westport package. After 14 years of living here, I'm still in discovery mode myself. But what our friends couldn't plug into in a mere weekend is how engaging and dynamic Westport's residents are.[breakhere] People in Westport have enormous energy and commitment. TheDailyWestport, debuting now, hopes to tap into that energy. As our Publisher Carll Tucker is fond of saying, "Our mantra is neighbors, neighbors, neighbors." So, welcome to TheDailyWestport. We plan to keep you up-to-date on the town's newsmakers--in other words, you and your neighbors.

Why is TheDailyWestport team such a good fit for Westport? Experience and deep community connections. We're also Carll's "neighbors, neighbors, neighbors." For 14 years, Westport has been my (Cornelia Fortier's) homebase. For the past five, I've covered Fairfield County's entertainment scene. I drive TheDailyWestport's Enjoy section, as well as cover news, neighbors, pets (a key area I think!) and more.
