GREENWICH, Conn. -- Back in 1971, when Alice Cooper and the band were looking for a place big enough to live and rehearse in, his manager found "creepy mansion" in Greenwich to rent, according to an interview with The Wall Street Journal

Alice Cooper - the band and the person - once lived in a mansion in Greenwich that was big enough and private enough to hold full band rehearsals, according to a story in The Wall Street Journal.

"We needed a place to live near New York where we could crank up the volume while rehearsing without bothering the neighbors," the article quotes Cooper as saying.

The 40-room mansion included a ballroom with a walk-in fireplace, a chapel, a bell tower and 15 bedrooms as well as Bette Davis next door.
