Pelham Doctor Arrested for Alleged DWI

New York State Police charged a doctor from Pelham with a DWI after he allegedly crashed into another vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway on Sunday night.

Dr. Warren W. Geisler, 61, crashed into another car from behind on the entrance ramp to the Taconic State Parkway in East Fishkill, New York State police said. The doctor attempted to flee the scene, but a state trooper at the Pudding Street intersection at Putnam Valley intercepted him.

The officer detected the odor of alcohol on Geisler's breath and conducted field sobriety tests that Geisler failed. Police arrested him and impounded his vehicle.

Police detained Geisler at the State Police station in Stormville ref and said he reused to comply with a breath test request.

Officials charged Geisler with a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and other traffic infractions. Police released him to a family member.

Geisler is scheduled to appear in the Town of East Fishkill Court on June 29.
