Armonk's Martino Launches Town Justice Campaign

ARMONK, N.Y. - Armonk's Doug Martino kicked off his campaign Monday for North Castle Town Justice at an evening event alongside Republican and Democratic colleagues. He will be featured on both of the parties' lines for the Nov. 1 election.

"The people of Armonk want a cohesive government that will work together," Martino said. "Voters are tired of the fighting within the party."

Voters and politicans gathered Monday evening at 10 Miller Circle in Armonk for a wine and cheese party to celebrate the beginning of Martino's campaign. Petitions were also available for signing to enhance Martino's chances of making the ballots in November.

Others in attendance of the event included Republicans Supervisor Bill Weaver and Steve D'Angelo, and Democrats Mike Schiliro and Ann Curran. All four have been compiled together on the line of a new Armonk party called Alliance North Castle.

The Alliance Party is a non-partisan citizens’ group that intends to establish a new party line on the ballot and to wage a dynamic issue-oriented campaign in support of Weaver, Schiliro, D’Angelo, and Curran, according to a press release from the party.

Martino and fellow Republicans Weaver and D'Angelo held their first petition-signing event earlier this month on North Main Street.

D'Angelo is a candidate for the town board in North Castle and said it was the first of the group's public events leading up to the September primaries. He and his colleagues say they are uniting under the common goal of conveying that they stand for leadership, economic growth, and service.

Martino is a former assistant district attorney and a practicing attorney for over 25 years in Armonk.
