Wilton Center to Become a Construction Zone

WILTON, Conn. -- On Monday, July 18, work begins on extending the Yankee Gas pipeline into Wilton Center, and it is likely to cause traffic delays.

The project involves digging a trench for the pipeline and is set to start at the intersection of Wolfpit and Horseshoe roads. Work will then continue north through Horseshoe, River and Old Ridgefield roads as well as Center Street before ending at Ridgefield Road. Trench digging will proceed at approximate intervals of 200 feet.

Work is expected to take place between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily and continue for a two-month period.

Motorists should expect traffic delays in the construction zone areas and are asked to seek alternate routes if possible.
