Parrotbeach Takes Chappaqua To The Tropics

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Parrotbeach, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, brought the best of Buffett to Chappaqua’s Recreation Field Wednesday night. The band played Jimmy Buffett hits like “Margaritaville,” “Cheeseburger in Paradise” and “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.”

“This is a really cool place. It’s really nice,” said lead singer Remy St. Martin. “The people here were super nice and that really makes a big difference.”

Parrotbeach has been playing Jimmy Buffet’s hits and other island favorites for 15 years, playing in small towns like New Castle, as well as at casinos, on cruise ships and even at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville.

“We really enjoyed playing here,” said keyboardist Hurricane. “This gazebo is very nice and it works well acoustically.”

Parrotbeach consists of lead singer Remy St. Martin, bass guitarist Jah, guitarist Mojito, keyboard player Hurricane, and drummer Jax -- combined they make up for more than 100 years of musical experience.

The band got the crowd involved, urging concertgoers to clap their hands and get up and dance to the island rhythms.

Parrotbeach is the third act of the New Castle Summer Sounds Concert Series. Next Wednesday is the final act when New York Minute, a band playing the best of Motown, Pop and R&B visits the Recreation Field in Chappaqua.
