Bronx Man With Firearm Drives Intoxicated

YORKTOWN, N.Y.-- A 27-year-old man was arrested last Tuesday after he allegedly operated a motor vehicle while intoxicated, while his driving privileges were suspended, and while he possessed a loaded firearm, and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance.

Police report they investigated a personal injury auto accident on Route 6 and the intersection with Hill Blvd. on August 26 at 3:07 p.m. During the investigation, police found the driver, Brandon S. Brown of the Bronx, operating the motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. He was also operating the vehicle while his New York State license was suspended. Police also found Brown to be in possession of a loaded firearm, and unlawfully in possession of 57 Alprazolam pills. He is charged with the felony of criminal possession of a weapon, and three misdemeanors for the other charges.

He was remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $4,000 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in court on September 20 at 6 p.m.
