James John Krebser, Jr., 73, Former Ossining Police Chief

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Former Ossining Police Chief James John Krebser, Jr., a native of Yonkers, died Sunday, Nov. 9, in his home in DeLancey, N.Y. He was 73.

Krebser was born on May 15, 1941, to James and Betty Krebser. He served in the Army before beginning a 36-year career in law enforcement. Kresber retired in 1999 as the Ossining police chief. 

Following his retirement, Krebser moved to the DeLancey area, where he enjoyed spending time on his property, maintaining the landscape, working on his machinery, mowing, hunting, watching western movies and playing horseshoes.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Krebser of DeLancey; his children, James J. Krebser III and his wife Lisa of Sidney Center, N.Y., Betty Joyce Bland and her husband Melvin of Wappingers, Jean Marie Green of Wappingers, and Kimberly Aristimuno and her husband Javier of Sarasota, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and one brother: Peter Krebser of Katonah.

Calling hours are from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, 34 Main St. in Delhi, N.Y. .
