VERPLANCK, N.Y. Frederick P. Johannsen of Verplanck died April 30. He was 74.
Johannsen was the owner of Viking Boat Yard in Verplanck.
Born June 9, 1937, he was the son of Emil and Agnes Johannsen of Peekskill. Johannsen graduated from Peekskill High School in 1955 and served in the US Marine Corps from 1957 to 1961.
He is survived by his wife Molly; a son Einar (Melissa); a brother Dennis (Janice); a sister, Peggy Anne (Gordon) Hennessy; and four granddaughters. Johannsen was predeceased by a son, Erik.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Cortlandt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
