Fairfield Delays Opening Of Town Offices Due To Storm

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield town offices are expected to open at about 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, as a result of the harsh driving conditions caused by the winter storm.

Strong gusts of wind are leaving cars frozen in their driveways, in Southport.

The town has not asked residents to stay off the roads, as it requested a week ago during the would-be blizzard. But a mix of freezing rain and snow continues to hit the area, leaving even plowed streets covered with a mixture of snow and ice.

And while the Department of Public Works look to clear main roadways and school bus routes first, side streets remain untouched.
