Online Protest Started To Halt Actor's Ridgefield Playhouse Appearance

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- A Facebook protest of an upcoming Ridgefield Playhouse speaking appearance by actor Lillo Brancato, who was once a co-defendant in a murder case, will not stop his show, according to the Ridgefield Press.

Brancato is scheduled to talk on March 23 about how he ruined his life with drugs and bad decisions.

The protest was started by former New York City Police Detective John McNicholas of Ridgefield, who said he will protest the appearance in-person as well, according to the Ridgefield Press.

He said he objects to Brancato’s appearance because the former actor was convicted of a burglary in which a police officer was killed. Another person was convicted of the murder, said the Ridgefield Press.

Allison Stockel, executive director of the Playhouse, said the protest will not stop the show, the Press said.
