YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: An out-of-control sedan went airborne and into the parking lot of a Hackensack shopping center this afternoon, clipping a passerby and pinning the driver, who responders aid didn’t appear seriously injured after firefighters from Hackensack and Maywood cut her out.

The woman, who appeared to be in her late 50s, told police she didn’t know why she suddenly lost control of the car, which careened onto Passaic Street, hit an SUV and flipped back into the lot over a row of bushes, landing on three other vehicles and grazing a woman who was getting into her car in the leg.

“She was talking a bit of nonsense, but that could have been from a blow to the head,” one of the first responders to the lot at 467 Passaic Street, near the Maywood border, told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “Otherwise, she didn’t seem seriously injured.”

The woman, the passerby and the SUV driver were all taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.

Maywood and Hackensack firefighters were at the scene instantly, along with local police and EMTs from both municipalities.
