REDDING, Conn. -- The Redding Roadhouse is getting set for its monthlong Oktoberfest 2013 celebration from Sept 29 through Oct. 27.

What would an Oktoberfest celebration be without traditional oom-pah band music?

The tent is being constructed, the beer hall is being designed and the chef is preparing a classic German fare menu. Authentic brats, wursts and schnitzels will be sharing the stage with seasonal Oktoberfest brews, providing a true taste of this traditional autumn festival held in Munich, Germany.

The Oktoberfest celebration includes a month-long rotating variety of Oktoberfest brews, local craft beer and seasonal flavors enjoyed under a tented beer hall, complete with patio tables, music and festive decor. Every Sunday also will include traditional oom-pah band music.

The menu will include smoked bratwurst, weisswurst and bauernwurst steamed in beer with sauerkraut, potato pancakes with applesauce and sour cream, wiener schnitzel, sauerbraten, apple strudel a la mode and Black Forest layer cake.

Private parties can be accommodated in the indoor and outdoor beer halls, the outdoor patio and its multiple dining rooms.

The Redding Roadhouse is at 406 Redding Road. For more information, call 203-938-3388 or go to www.reddingroadhouse.com.
