Redding Welcomes Tennis Players For Round Robin Tournaments

REDDING, Conn. -- Tennis players of entry-level skills are invited to participate in the Redding Park and Recreation Department's series of Round Robin Tournaments, hosted and directed by tennis pro Glen Englander.

The first Red Robin Tournament begins on Aug. 8 with Men's Doubles.

The tournaments will be held at The Redding Elementary School Courts.

“Grab your racquets and come on over,” encouraged Englander. "If you don’t have a partner, we’ll find you one."

Men’s Doubles is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a registration deadline of Aug. 6 by 5 p.m., followed by Women’s Doubles on Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with player registration forms due by Thursday, Aug. 20 at 5 p.m.

The series finale will be a Mixed Doubles Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Registration forms must be submitted by Thursday, Aug. 27 by 5 p.m.

Englander is Weston’s senior tennis director. A former tennis pro for the towns of Westport and Wilton and Wilton High School, Englander is currently a tennis professional for the recreation departments in Redding, Monroe and Watertown. He is currently a staff member at Four Season’s Racquet Club.
