Offenbach’s "Les Contes d’Hoffmann" will be a live simulcast on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 12:55 p.m., with Vittorio Grigolo in the title role. From the Met on Sunday, Feb. 22, at noon, Tchaikovsky’s "Iolanta" and Bartók’s "Bluebeard’s Castle," will enchant and thrill.

Behind-the-scenes tours of the revered Metropolitan Opera House, with commentary by some of the genre’s most celebrated singers, add to the Met's series.

Bernard’s in Ridgefield will serve a special $45 prix-fixe menu, or a complimentary glass of wine with dinner, the days of these events. Reservations are suggested.

Grigolo takes on the tortured poet in "Les Contes d'Hoffman" and the unwitting adventurer in "Bluebeard's Castle," while Soprano Hibla Gerzmava sings as all three heroines - each an idealized embodiment of some aspect of Hoffmann's desire. Thomas Hamspon portrays the shadowy Four Villains. Soprano Anna Netrebko plays the heroine in Tchaikovsky's opera while Nadja Michael plays the unwilling victim of Bluebeard, who is played by Mikhail Petrenko.

Broadcast live from the West End by National Theatre, "Skylight," starring Carey Mulligan and Stephen Daldry, will be screened on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m. Bill Nighy is also featured in this highly anticipated production. The production is a story about two once-lovers who are trying to rekindle their relationship, only to find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $15 for students. Operas are free for students 18 and under by showing ID.
