Adults and High School students actively writing music will learn how to craft lyrics as well as manipulate melody, rhythm and harmony. The class is designed to teach students to write music for any genre.

The courses run every Wednesday through March 4. Singers performing at The Playhouse will also make guest appearances.

Briody is a two-time Emmy winner, who has shared the stage with artists ranging from Art Garfunkel to Aimee Mann. He was selected by the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism as a Master Teaching Artist.

In 2008, he took home his first Emmy for Best Original Song with “Little Starr”— a tune that also earned him a BMI Film & Television Award. His 2009 song “We All Fall Down” earned him a second Emmy in the Best Original Song category.

His song "We're All Heroes" opened the Connecticut Special Olympic Summer Games.
