RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – A 50-minute spin class featuring DJ Yosif will be held at the JoyRide studio in Ridgefield to raise funds for the Arts for Everyone and Arts in Education programs offered by The Ridgefield Playhouse.
The event will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5. To register, click here.
The Arts for Everyone program provides free Ridgefield Playhouse tickets to low-income children and families in Ridgefield, Stamford, Bridgeport and Danbury.
“Last year, we were able to offer free tickets to many schools in low-income areas so that they could come to our Arts in Education shows, and we were able to bus them here as well,” said Allison Stockel, executive director of the Ridgefield Playhouse, in a press release. “Everyone should have the opportunity to be exposed to and benefit from the arts. It’s not only important from the aspect of keeping live performance in a society that is deluged with recorded, multi-media experiences, but also from a social aspect about what it means for kids to attend a stage show and open their minds.”
The minimum donation to participate in the class is $50.
A post-spin party at JoyRide will feature complimentary snacks and drinks provided by No. 109 Cheese and Wine.
“We are delighted to donate our studio to raise funds for this cause,” said Amy Pal, co-owner of JoyRide Ridgefield, in a press release. “Our goal is to be able to provide a fun, interactive alternative to raise money. Our DJ Rides in particular are fun as well as out of the ordinary. We are honored that The Ridgefield Playhouse is riding at JoyRide Ridgefield for this special evening.”
Fall headliners at The Ridgefield Playhouse include Colbie Caillat, Chis Isaak, Jeff Bridges, Willie Nelson, Pink Martini, Macy Gray and Whoopi Goldberg. The Ridgefield Playhouse also hosts comedy, dance and children’s theater
The JoyRide studio is at 62 Danbury Road in Ridgefield.
