Governor Rell will make $1.5 million available in low-interest loans to help flood victims from the past two storms. The money is only for structural repairs and replacing equipment such as furnaces or hot water heaters. You can borrow up to $20,000 for structural repair, $750 for water heaters and $7,000 for furnaces, at an interest rate of 2 percent.
"To be covered under this program, the damage must be specific to these spring floods and verifiable proof is absolutely required," Rell said. "Take photos, take videos, keep detailed notes and measurements. The most important thing is to document everything. Specific information on what qualifies and how to apply should be up on the governor's website today.
