Westport Panel Will Address 'The Trouble With Money In Politics'

WESTPORT, Conn. – Three political experts will discuss the topic “The Trouble With Money in Politics” at a panel discussion presented by the League of Women Voters of Westport on Wednesday.

The panelists will be John McKinney, a former Republican state senator who represented Easton, Fairfield, Weston, and Westport; Cheri Quickmire, executive director of Common Cause of Connecticut; and Jeff Clements, author of “Corporations Are Not People: Reclaiming Democracy from Big Money & Global Corporations.”

Allison Rivard, vice president for the League of Women Voters of Connecticut, will also discuss the organization’s efforts on campaign finance reform throughout the state.

The free event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave.
