Westport Temple Polar Pluge Aids Child Guidance Center

WESTPORT, Conn. – The Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County has been selected as this year’s beneficiary for the Westport Temple Israel Polar Plunge.

For the last seven years, the TI Polar Bears have gathered each New Year’s Day at Compo Beach in Westport to jump into the frigid waters of Long Island Sound for charity.

The TI Polar Bears will make their eighth annual plunge on Thursday, Jan. 1.

To date, the TI Polar Bears have raised nearly $600,000 for various organizations, including Autism Speaks, Make-A-Wish Foundation Connecticut and United Cerebral Palsy. 

The Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County is a nonprofit organization helping more than 2,000 children every year experiencing a wide range of mental and behavioral health needs.
