Westport-Weston Chamber Serves Up Specials For Restaurant Weeks

Restaurant Week features 27 eateries, which are offering Prix Fixe meals. The restaurants span from Westport to Saugatuck to Southport, along with two cocktail bars for connoisseurs who wish to have drinks before or after dinner.

“It is a much more robust and diversified group of restaurants and bars participating this year,” WWCC Executive Director Matthew Mandell said. “We want people to eat local and with new flexible pricing instituted, it will allow both the moderate family style and high end establishments to find their price point and patrons eager to try their bistro."

Rather than all charging the same amount for their prix fixe, the restaurants have each set their own prices - $15 to $25 for lunches and $25 to $35 for dinners. Brunches have been added this year at many of the participating venues, at $20 and up.

“Restaurant Week is a very important event for us,” said George O’Connell, manager of The Spotted Horse. “Not only is it a great marketing tool to introduce new customers to our restaurant, it can be seen as a reward to those customers that enjoy dining here on a regular basis. I only see it as a ‘win-win’ for both sides of the menu.”

Mandell added, “The inclusion of these unique venues adds a little spice to the event, giving people an opportunity to have that before dinner martini or a night cap. It allows residents an expanded experience that makes it that much more fun and vibrant.”

Restaurant Week has helped many local places find new regular customers.

“When you come to Tuttis, you dine at my house,” Tuttis co-owner Maria Funicello said. “Come, have a meal with my family.”
