Figure Skater Speaks About Olympics At Redding's Mark Twain Library

REDDING, Conn. -- Figure skater Brooklee Han, a 2013 graduate of Joel Barlow High School, will speak about her experiences at the Olympic Games in Sochi in an appearance at the Mark Twain Library in Redding.

Her talk will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 23. Han, 18, is a resident of Redding and skates for Australia. She has dual citizenship. Monday is also International Olympic Day. 

"Come hear her discuss the challenges and joys of the skating life," the library said in a statement.

"Excited to be @MTLRedding on June 23rd @ 7:30 to share my Olympic experience and celebrate International Olympic Day!" Han said via Twitter @brookleeh95.

Han was named to the Australian Olympic Team after winning the country's national championship in December. 

Han skated to a 20th place finish in her Olympic debut in Sochi, Russia. Han was in 22nd place after earning 49.32 points for her short program. Her free program earned 94.52 points for a total score of 143.84, moving her up two places.
