WESTON, Conn. -- Happy Birthday To Weston’s John Michael Seigenthaler!
John Michael Seigenthaler, who has owned a home in Weston, turns 58 on Saturday. The news anchor was born Dec. 21, 1955.
Seigenthaler began his television news career in 1980 as a writer and producer at WNGE-TV (now WKRN-TV) in Nashville, Tennessee.
From 1981-90, he reported and produced for WSMV-TV, Nashville and also hosted a weekday public affairs show and later moved to KOMO-TV in Seattle, where he anchored the weekend evening news.
He served as the anchor for the weekend edition of NBC Nightly News for more than seven years of his 11-year tenure with NBC News.
He also hosted the television shows "Lockup" and "MSNBC Investigates" on MSNBC.
After NBC, he worked for The Associated Press until joining Seigenthaler Public Relations in July 2008.
During his anchor career he received Two-time Emmy Award, Robert F. Kennedy Television News award and American Bar Association Award.
On July 8, 2013 he joined Al Jazeera America as its evening news anchor.
