Redding Welcomes Season With Christmas Tree Lighting On Town Green

REDDING, Conn. -- Residents can enjoy carols and even join in some sing-alongs at the annual Christmas tree lighting and holiday celebration in Redding at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, on the Town Green.

The Georgetown Lions Club will serve hot chocolate, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman will hand out candy canes. 

Residents or groups that want to lead a holiday song can call the Park & Recreation Department at 203-938-2551, ext. 6.

The John Read Middle School choir and the Joel Barlow High School Select Choir are scheduled to perform.

Donations of nonperishables and money for the Redding Food Pantry will be accepted.

The tree will be lit at about 4:40 p.m.

Parking will be allowed along Route 107 and in lots at Redding Elementary School, Town Hall, Post Office and Christ Church. No parking is permitted along Lonetown Road Extension or down the hill from the police station.
