Ridgefield Playhouse, Library Team Up For 'Pinocchio,' 'Into The Woods'

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Library and The Ridgefield Playhouse are teaming up to offer special programs for children this month.

Children are invited to read "Pinocchio" and "Into The Woods" and then see the shows as part of the Pepsi Children's Series. The library and playhouse are partnering with Books on the Common to present the series of special performances based on the beloved children's stories.

"Each month come to the Library for a storytime, book discussion or other literacy activity featuring a selected title, then attend an entertaining and educational performance that will bring the story to life on the Playhouse stage," a press release said. "Let's get kids reading." 

The drop-in story time for "Pinocchio" starts at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Ridgefield Library. The "Pinocchio" performances at The Ridgefield Playhouse start at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. The program is presented by Theatre IV, underwritten by Wooster School of Danbury and sponsored by Books on the Common with support from The Ridgefield Library

The drop-in story time for "Into The Woods" begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Ridgefield Library. The Ridgefield Playhouse performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1. The program is presented by Connecticut Broadway Stage Company and underwritten by the Vester/Greenberg Family.
