The Westport-based luxury home builder made the donation, which will help fund construction of the Y's Mahackeno campus, in honor of the Gault family. The donation came "in recognition of the Gaults' longstanding support both of SIR's development efforts and the Family Y's mission of service to the local community," a press release said.

"As a builder and real estate developer in town, it is important for us to have good local partners that add value to our projects,” said Robert Haroun, CEO of SIR Development. “Gault Energy is one of those partners. From its mason and stone division to its oil heat, propane and generator installation, Gault stands behind its products. When we first started in the business 20 years ago, it was the Gaults, and especially Bill Gault, who helped us with our first house. For that we are ever thankful."

Sam Gault, president of Gault Energy & Stone, serves on the Y’s Board of Trustees.

“Like Rob and Julie Haroun, our Y is profoundly grateful to the Gault family,” said Family Y CEO Rob Reeves in accepting the SIR contribution on behalf of Bill Gault.

“Not only has the Y long benefited from the Gaults as community leaders and philanthropists, today we’re also proud that the Gault companies’ products and services are such an important part of making our long-held dream to ‘build what matters’ – a modern, sustainable new home for our Family Y – a reality.”

The Family Y’s new 54,000 square-foot facility is scheduled to open this summer at the Y’s 32-acre Mahackeno campus.
