Weston’s Alden Sherman boasts a large collection of classic cars and can often be seen around town in one of his models by Bugatti, Amilcar, Jaguar or Ferrari. Sherman is a frequent attendee of local classic car shows and for his second annual namesake show event organizers hope he will be joined by other collectors.

The Alden Sherman Classic will help raise money for the Weston Senior Activities Center, which serves more than 20 percent of Weston’s total population each year with its programs. The inaugural show in 2012 attracted more than 200 exhibitors and helped raise more than $26,000 for the Senior Center.

“The Weston Senior Activities Center is an important destination for many Weston and area seniors,” Director Wendy Petty said in a press release. “The support we are so pleased to have received furthers our programs and provides for our continued growth.”

This year’s show is not until September, but organizers are asking those interested in exhibiting to register early. The group is also hoping to attract more sponsors to help stage the event.

Those interested in displaying a car or co-sponsoring the show sign up at the event website. For more information, contact Wendy Petty at wpetty7511@aol.com or 203-222-2608.
