Any current members of the Westport-Weston Family Y can bring friends or family members who are not members to use the facilities on Fridays for free.
The promotion will run each Friday from July 12 through Aug. 30.
“The local families we serve – many have been Y members for two and three generations now – are our best ‘Y ambassadors,’” Membership & Marketing Director for the Family Y Brian Marazzi said in the statement. “We think Free Fridays are a great way for them to introduce their friends and neighbors who might be newer to our community to all that our Family Y has to offer.”
To take advantage of Free Fridays, guests are asked to stop by the Family Y’s Member Services Desk at its Church Lane entrance on any Friday to complete a waiver form. Individual guests can visit up to three times for free on Fridays. After the third free visit, guests must pay a daily guest fee or join the Y. Typically, daily guest fees are $20 for adult and family or $10 for senior, student and youth.
If a guest joins the Y after their first visit, the Family Y will waive its usual $50 join fee. As a thank-you to Y members for inviting guests, the Y will credit the member with a free month of membership for each guest who joins the club.
Guests are afforded the same privileges as members and are expected to conform to the Family Y's rules and regulations.
