An estimated 2,279 out of 3,808 customers in Weston, 2,183 out of 3,903 customers in Redding and 1,430 out of 2,861 customers in Easton were without power at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, according to Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating reports.

CL&P officials said previously they expected to have most power restored to customers by Tuesday, according to a press release. More than 106,000 customers out of 1,240,246 total customers served by CL&P are out of power across Connecticut as of 6:30 a.m. Saturday, down from more than 167,000 customers Friday morning.

Since the height of the storm Monday, CL&P and mutual aid crews have restored power to more than 600,000 customers, according to a release.

“We continue to make great progress, and we are confident that this integrated and strategic approach to mobilizing thousands of skilled line and field workers will enable us to accelerate the effort to restore power to all of our customers,” said Bill Quinlan, CL&P Senior Vice President of Emergency Preparedness, in a press release. “We appreciate the patience and support of our communities as we continue to focus on full-scale restoration of large blocks of customers as well as critical customers identified by town officials.”

Additional resources are being deployed to the most severely damaged areas, where entire sections of the electric system require rebuilding, according to a press release.
