EASTON, Conn. — A black bear was spotted Wednesday on Route 58 near Valley Road in Easton, but the Easton Police were unable to locate it. They were called by a resident and by the Redding Police, who were also looking for the bear.
Also from the Easton Police blotter:
• Mark Farrington, 46, of Bridgeport, was issued a ticket for failure to drive a reasonable distance after colliding with another car on Freeborn Road on July 10. No injuries occurred.
• Two teens found swimming in Easton Reservoir were issued trespassing infractions. Jean Claude Lemeur, 17, and Gary Andrews, 18, of Trumbull, will be required to pay fines.
• The owner of a home on Adams Road reported the theft of computer equipment and jewelry worth $9,000. Police investigated but found no evidence of a break-in or damage to windows. The items were taken between June 3 and July 4.
• Damage to a door at Samuel Staples Elementary School was reported on July 6 following a dance recital.
