Construction Underway On A Number Of Weston Road Projects

WESTON, Conn. -- The town of Weston is working on a number of road projects.

The bridge work on Godfrey and Pent roads is expected to be completed by July 10, according to a press release from the town.

Replacement of the retaining wall on Route 53 near the Weston Racquet Club in Weston began June 18. The work consists of replacing the retaining wall structure on Route 53, opposite the club. Route 53 has alternating, one-way traffic at the retaining wall location. The project is anticipated to be substantially complete by Sept. 15.

Replacement of the Cobb’s Mill Bridge is set to begin July 1. This project consists of replacing the bridge at the intersection of Route 57, Old Mill Road and Route 53, according to a press release. Trucks will not have access to Old Mill Road. Old Mill Road from Georgetown Road to the Cobb’s Mill Inn will be one way. Vehicles will not have access from Cobbs Mill Inn to Georgetown Road.

Motorists will be detoured from Route 57 onto Route 53 to routes 7/33 (Danbury Road) to School Street back onto Route 57. There will be no thru trucks from Route 33 to Route 53. Detour signs will be posted.
