  • Two homicides occurred in two days in Bridgeport. On Wednesday, a 32-year-old clerk at T Market on Reservoir Avenue was fatally shot multiple times in the torso by a gunman who fled and has not been found. On Thursday, a man who asked a crew working at a road construction site on Chopsey Hill Road about a job shot one of the workers to death. Gregory Weathers, 33, was apprehended by police officers directing traffic at the site. No motive was known, and Weathers was hospitalized under a suicide watch.  
  • In Weston, a home once owned by a family who claimed to have created the lobster roll hit the market for $1.185 million. 
  • A group of students at Brien McMahon High School who formed a group called HEART are spreading the word on living healthy and preventing substance abuse among teens in Norwalk.
  • Westport’s Mike Paliotta, a senior at the University of Vermont, has agreed to a two-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League.

  • Greenwich residents have a new spot to enjoy the great outdoors as the town officially opened the new Cos Cob Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the former site of a power plant. 

  • Maryanne Anderson, 76, who Stamford police said was savagely beaten by her son Monday, died Thursday of her injuries. Her son, Timothy F. Anderson, 42, has been arrested on assault charges and faces the possibility of more severe charges. 

  • Four Danbury women, ranging in age from 23-50, were arrested on prostitution charges after being accused of offering an undercover officer sex for money, police said. 

  • Anthony Sabato, 57, a person of interest in the unsolved killing of a Darien police officer, was arrested in West Haven on unrelated federal narcotics and firearms charges. Officer Kenneth Bateman was shot to death on May 31, 1981, as he responded to a silent alarm at the Duchess on Post Road in Darien. 

  • Carol Sung, 51, has been charged with reckless driving in a four-car crash last fall in New Canaan that left a Stamford teen with severe injuries.

  • Vision Search Partners, an employee search firm in Wilton, says an improved market for employees and job hunters is a sign of the uptick in the Connecticut economy.

  • The Fairfield Fire Commission unanimously elected a Kyran Dunn, a 32-year veteran of the Yonkers Fire Department, to be the new deputy fire chief

  • Paul Fonteyne, Boehringer Ingelheim's president and chief executive officer, is pledging to help the fight against colorectal-cancer by supporting the “80 percent by 2018” initiative to increase the rate of cancer screenings. He is the incoming chairman of the American Cancer Society’s program called CEOs Against Cancer.
