Dry Conditions To End As Rain Moves Into Westport Friday Night

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Clouds will begin to roll into Fairfield County on Friday night and will likely bring showers and the possibility of thunderstorms to start the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

But it should remain dry, sunny and warm until then. Partly sunny skies will dominate the daytime hours on Friday with a high of about 57 degrees.

The forest fire danger level for Friday, is high, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. The relative humidity is about 29 percent in the county, and the dewpoint is a very low 22 degrees. 

But showers are likely after 11 p.m. Friday, with the chance of precipitation at 70 percent.

Saturday will be partly sunny with a high of 62 degrees. Thunderstorms could dampen the afternoon mood, however, with a 40 percent chance of rain.

Sunny skies return to the area on Sunday with a high of 59 degrees and winds out of the northwest at 13 to 16 mph.
