Cory Dawid, 42, entered the no contest plea to charges of attempted murder and first-degree strangulation, the Connecticut Post said. According to the plea bargain, Dawid will also be sentenced on May 1 to eight years of special parole after serving the 15 years in prison, the Connecticut Post reported.

Police were called to the family's Easton home by their son, who said his parents were having a fight, on March 11, 2014. Authorities later found Dawid's wife unconscious on the ground after he had attempted to first strangle, then hang her.
