The records are available through the Easton Town Clerk’s office or anywhere else via the Internet.
Residents, title searchers, attorneys and researchers can access online land records and maps, indexes and images for real-time search, retrieval, and printing of land records. Dog license renewals went online over the summer.
The available data goes back to Jan. 2, 1979, and includes access to land records, property maps, and foreclosed property registrations, agendas and minutes. Trade names are coming soon.
Town Clerk Christine Halloran said she planned to apply for future grants to gain online access to data stored before 1979.
The new system eliminates travel time and related costs, improves efficiency, creates a more flexible workday and shortens search turnaround time, she said.
People are welcome to visit the town clerk’s office to access the data if they prefer.
Anyone interested in an information session about the new system should call the town clerk’s office at 203-268-6291. From there, staff will schedule a day and time with New Vision Systems.
