Fairfield County Democrats to Endorse Himes

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Fairfield County’s U.S. Rep. Jim Himes is expected to accept the endorsement of the Democratic Party for re-election to the House on Monday at a convention held in Bridgeport.

Delegates from each of the 17 towns in Connecticut’s Fourth District will gather at the Cesar A. Batalla School, 606 Howard Ave., Bridgeport, to officially endorse Himes’ bid for re-election to Congress. The convention marks the start of the formal nomination process to put Himes, a Greenwich resident, on the November ballot.

Other speakers at the convention will include Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch; state Sen. Bob Duff of Norwalk; state Rep. Charlie Stallworth of Bridgeport; Fairfield Selectman Cristin McCarthy-Vahey; Weston First Selectman Gayle Weinstein; Norwalk Councilman Warren Pena; state Rep. Gerald Fox II of Stamford; Westport Democratic Town Committee Chairman Jim Ezzes; Bridgeport Town Clerk Alma Maya; state Rep. Patricia Billie Miller of Stamford; Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi; and Rabbi Jeremy Wiederhorn of the Conservative Synagogue of Westport.
