According to Eversource, a total of 43 customers were without power as of 7:30 a.m. in Danbury. It was not clear when those outages would be restored. Some of the outages were on Deer Hill, were a pole stood completely stripped of its power lines.
A massive tree limb blocked the entire roadway, with the power lines pulled down for an entire block.
No power crews or tree crews could be spotted on Deer Hill Avenue at that time, just orange cones with Road Closed and Detour signs blocking the busy downtown road from Wilson Street to Seeley Street.
Portions of nearby Mountainville Avenue were also closed to traffic Tuesday morning.
Traffic reports also indicated that Route 6 was blocked in neighboring Bethel at Old Hawleyville Road due to a fallen tree.
At least two lines of strong, loud thunderstorms moved through the Danbury area overnight, cutting the humidity and temperature — at least for a while. High temperatures are expected to hit the upper 80s again on Tuesday, with a 20 percent chance of more isolated thunderstorms.
