Fire In Bronx Causes Delays On New Haven Line Trains

Update, 3:40 p.m.: Trains on both the New Haven Line and the Harlem Line are now running on or close to schedule, Metro North reports.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Riders on the New Haven Line in Fairfield County should expect “indefinite delays” Thursday due to a fire in the Bronx, according to Metro-North Railroad.

The New York Fire Department responded to a fire on a Metro-North train near 175th street in the Bronx at about 12:45 p.m. Thursday. Passengers have been evacuated from the car and the fire is now under control, according to the FDNY Twitter feed.

Metro North is warning riders on the New Haven and Harlem lines that the fire could cause “indefinite delays,” the MTA said on its website Thursday.
