The Best Children’s Hospitals rankings highlight the publication’s Top 50 U.S. facilities in advanced pediatric care specialties.

“U.S. News continues to place Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center among the best children’s hospitals in the nation in multiple categories. This recognition is due in large measure to the dedicated effort of the hospital’s outstanding clinical and support staff,” said Dr. Michael Gewitz, physician-in-chief of Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center.

Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital cared for its first patients in September 2004 and in just 10 years has become one of the nation’s leading pediatric advanced-care centers, Gewitz said.

“These rankings further attest to the high level of expert care provided by the hospital,'' he said. "Families are now coming from across the country and beyond to Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center for the care of their children.”

Families from the region and beyond visit Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital for the expertise offered by the hospital’s division of Pediatric Pulmonology, Allergy and Sleep Medicine. The team cares for children with asthma, allergies, cystic fibrosis, recurrent pneumonia, sleep apnea and a wide array of congenital and acquired illnesses that affect the respiratory tract.
