NORWALK, CONN. – A man hit by a car while running on New Canaan Avenue on Saturday morning has died from his injuries, Norwalk police said. The man has been identified as Kenneth Dorsey, 44, according to Lt. Paul Vinett.

Dorsey was jogging when he was struck by a Toyota SUV at about 9:30 a.m. in the area of 230 New Canaan Ave., Sgt. James Walsh said. The SUV was driven by a 16-year-old New Canaan girl. No charges have been filed.

Police believe Dorsey was running with his back to traffic, Vinett said.

Dorsey was breathing but unconscious when firefighters arrived, according to Norwalk Fire Department Deputy Chief Edward Prescott. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about two hours later, Walsh said. Family members have been notified, but police were not releasing his name yet.

Police were still on the scene at 4 p.m. One lane of traffic was allowed to pass. Both the accident investigation team and the crime scene investigation scene were working on the case, Walsh said.
