DANBURY, Conn. -- Drivers on westbound I-84 near Danbury had to deal last weekend with a road closure just over the New York border for bridge work. But they get a reprieve this weekend.
The eastbound I-84 closure originally planned for this weekend has been delayed to Saturday, Oct. 19.
The closure will last "for at least 18 hours" from 5 p.m. Oct. 19 to 11 a.m. Oct. 20, according to a press release. The closure will allow workers to reconstruct the bridge carrying eastbound I-84 over Dingle Ridge Road in the Town of Southeast, N.Y.
Traffic will be diverted off the highway in New York, onto Route 6/202 and back onto the highway at Exit 1 in Danbury during the October closure.
The bridge on the westbound side of I-84 was completed last weekend.
