  • Greenwich police identified the woman who died after being struck by a car while crossing King Street on Tuesday morning as Yani Baca, 51, of Elmsford, N.Y. No charges have been filed in the accident, although the investigation is continuing. Baca had just gotten off a bus and was walking to a job as a housecleaner in Greenwich when the accident occurred. 
  • Patrick Hogan, a Milford resident and Irish immigrant, opened the doors to his newest endeavor, The Crafty Monk, on Wednesday in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport. The Crafty Monk will feature 40 beers on tap, 30 of which will be rotating craft beers.
  • A 25-year-old New Canaan woman was identified as the victim of a deadly fall Monday at the Stamford Town Center. She was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital after she fell from an inside escalator on the top floor to the center atrium of the mall. Police believe the incident was a suicide. 
  • "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice turned herself in early Monday at the Federal Correctional Institution at Danbury to begin serving a 15-month sentence on fraud charges. 
  • Connecticut needs to focus on the future of its transportation systems, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said in his State of the State Address. He gave the speech Wednesday after he was sworn into his second term as governor, the same day the 2015 legislative session opened.
  • As temperatures plummeted throughout Fairfield County during the week, the Open Door Shelter in Norwalk saw an increase in the number of people looking for a warm place to sleep.
