The Easton Board of Selectmen, in its effort to make more online information available to residents, has launched Easton’s new town website.

The new website is easier to navigate, has a better calendar, provides for email subscriptions to Easton news, collects useful documents for ease of access, contains emergency information and incorporates numerous other improvements, the board said.

The new website also is more visually appealing, the board said. It presents Easton in a way that will remind residents of the best of the town and make a memorable first impression on those interested in learning more about Easton. The background photo rotates among different scenic shots around town and shows varying seasons.

New functionality will be added soon, including access to land records, town ordinances, and GIS maps, the board said.

The Board of Selectmen thanked Shannon Calvert for the photographs, Laura Spisek and Jim Bromer for their work on design. The board also thanked Town Clerk Christine Halloran for her efforts on the project and her commitment to helping maintain the website’s content.

Design and hosting are provided by Virtual Towns and Schools.

The website’s address remains the same at www.eastonct.gov.
