What's Happening in Wilton This Week

WILTON, Conn. – There are all sorts of events happening around town this week now that school vacation is finished. Here is what's happening in Wilton April 23-26:

Monday

  • Wilton Library – 6-7:30 p.m.: The Weir Farm’s Artist in Residence, Pam Rogers, will be at the library for an exhibition and reception as a part of her time at Weir Farm. Her art work is described as examining “the conceptual evolution of relationships”.
  • Trackside Teen Center – 7-8 p.m.: Team captains for Wilton’s Relay for Life are having a meeting about the May 11 relay.
  • Wilton Library – 7:30-9 p.m.: Wilton is having a public information meeting, all residents are invited to attend.

Tuesday

  • Wilton – 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.: Wilton Republicans can come out to vote in the Connecticut State Republican Primary. There are three polling places. Registrars want residents to make sure they know where their polling station is. Check here.
  • Comstock Community Center – 11 a.m. to noon: The Senior Book Club will be meeting at Comstock to discuss the book of the month, Scoop by Evelyn Waugh, led by Miwako Ogasawara.

Wednesday

  • Trackside Teen Center – 7-9 p.m.: There will be a community conversation to discuss “Protecting Our Youth from Substance Abuse.” The conversation will be hosted by the Wilton Youth Council based on the results of a 2011 survey of Wilton youth and parents on the underage use of drugs and alcohol in the community.

Thursday

  • Wilton Library – 7-8:30 p.m.: Wilton residents are invited to the library for a “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Annuities” talk by James Hawley as a part of an ongoing financial seminar series organized by Steve Sherman of Wilton.
  • Wilton High School Professional Library – 7-10 p.m.: The Wilton Board of Education is having its regular meeting to discuss a curriculum change and the district’s finances. There will be time for public comment.
