Wilton Offers Forum on Fraud for Residents

WILTON, Conn. – With fraud a major worry these days, Stay at Home in Wilton is hosting a forum to help residents become more aware.

Hosted at Trackside Teen Center on Sunday, April 29, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., the forum is free to all Wilton residents.

The forum will highlight the spread of fraudulent activities, what residents should be aware of and what should be done in response. Experts from the FBI and the Wilton Police Department will be on hand to discuss the different types of schemes that threaten unsuspecting residents and who they should contact if they find themselves in these types of situations. The forum will highlight scams that happen online, over the phone and others that happen in person.

“With technology constantly changing, it is important for residents to be knowledgeable of all the different ways they can be targeted by criminals,” said Phil Richards, president of Stay at Home in Wilton. “The Forum on Fraud will help ensure residents are aware of what to look for and what to do if it happens to them so they don’t become victims themselves.”
