Worker Killed By Garbage Truck Identified As 58-Year-Old Danbury Man

DANBURY, Conn. -- A 58-year-old man was hit and killed by a garbage truck in an accident at the Winter Bros. transfer station at 307 White St. on Wednesday morning, Danbury police said.

He was identified as Marcio DaSilva of Danbury. DaSilva was pronounced dead at the scene after the accident at 6:48 a.m., police said.   

The driver of the All American Waste garbage truck was identified as Sylvie Dzamko, 46, of Danbury, police said. OSHA was notified and came to the scene. 

The accident occurred on the Winter Bros. property, police said. Garbage and recycling  

The accident remains under investigation, police said. Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Lance Brevard at 203-797-2156.
